…one of the best I’ve seen in a while?
Probably protects the contents better than a pack too? And definitely safety points for approaching from behind traffic too.

to visit this place when its operational. The chief controller on duty kindly sent an invite to me the other day to pop by for a visit.
And I really did want to take some extra photos (as those who know me,….know I am want to do?) but apparently “protocol” comes into play. (Those guys definitely have the best “close up” view in Nelson)
Still was great to meet the folk there and see what an incredibly stellar job they are doing.
One second we are having a conversation, and with-in the second (actually I think it was prolly part of a second if I’m honest about it) he had spun around … sat down … picked up something that looked like a normal “old school phone” handset” and started talking in, …in well lets just say a different language to you and me, for sure. Commitment for sure!
…real hard to imagine having to ground one to stop it tilting over like the news said happened over Europe way last week.
on Te Radars TV program…..chk out whats there upper left frame. Def adding to the deserts ambiance I’d say.
if I had an interest in yachting and the sea overall,
could I possibly combine these interests in a place…
…somewhere where perchance the wind…
…well ideally where would be favourable “tradewinds…”
Yes, I can answer, its called Nelson, New Zealand?
I thought I caught a “moment” ….
for the Nelson Pilot Boat….
She’d been busy “assisting” someone else…
….but when the chap in charge powered up the engines…

something that has been going on …
…for upteen years. In fact its New Zealands longest running ever Kite Festival. And 2015’s Festival kicks of tomorrow, and continues into Sunday.
…well…it turns out a few more people know about this fav local summer swimming spot than last year!
Maybe TripAdvisor or something has got word out ….anyway part of the popularity is most surely because this spot …… its just 2m off the main highway!
the most “chillaxed guy” was spotted prepping here at the jetty …
….and then later….spotted here. Just another summer day in the Top-of-the-South.
…when I first began working in tech (1989) if someone had told me that with-in a short number of years…..
….someone with a camera that costs less than $300 would …
…be able to take photos like this….….well…I’d have been stunned!
vessels. NIWA is New Zealands National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, its a Crown Research Institute established way back in 1992.
…well to be fair…I have absolutely no idea what’s going on here? My camera on its mount is…often times in summer…..on auto time-lapse …taking a pic every few sec’s as I traverse around Rocks Rd….this one turned up there?
some holiday here…..
some live/work here fulltime….
….we spent a lazy Sunday here, where extended family (over 30) celebrated 20 years of coming to the same spot same time each year. Great time had by all.
