Mike Wards presence is felt….
next to his trike that is….and what I spotted was the different flags he has on his visibility mast. Go Mike!
Seems…paparazzi I am not…..
…..because try as I might I couldn’t keep up with the bus driver.
I suspect he was trained in Maranello! Anyway this is as close as I ever got!
Even one of the Main streets of Nelson is flashing….
the importance to us locally of what starts tomorrow.
In days to come….
we’ll find out the reason for this massive large local photo….that had no verbage – words attached to it…..
At this stage all is not clear?
Who’d have thought that….
….in the light of day ….and the rain tonight…
….that a Nelsonians life could be so spectacular…. something like this…
…and this...what I’d have to basically call a “ panorama factory” that is…
….could look ok…on such a regular basis?
Could this massive sunshine event tonight….doing all it can to be seen through the clouds….storm clouds in fact….could it be an omen for the Italians in tomorrows Rugby World Cup match…..that follows the re-enactment game at the Botanic’s.
Don’t forget that Nelson has the distinction of being the place where the first game of rugby was ever played in New Zealand.
What the heck…..do it anyway!
I can’t say whether I really like it or not?………but actually this weird photo is about as close as was possible to how I saw to tonight’s combo of pouring rain and the fab Nelson sun getting ready to go to bed over the western ranges. Guess that’s why we live here….a different….and by that I mean a “different” panorama every night of the year.
Rugby World Cup 2011 1st Nelson matchup tomorrow…
Its spring in Nelson 2011.
It was only a few short weeks back it wasn’t looking like it was….
…even though September was well under way……
….but by mid September everything is yellow,
and there’s some timely extra additions to the park as well, in time for the kick off to Nelson’s part to play in this years 2011 Rugby World Cup.

That Green Bridge
that allows Collingwood St to cross the Maitai River
has had some colourful additions recently.
Another pic here, prior to its 2009 painting over at Flickr.
