Ships that pass in…
….well in this case “daylight”….
…seemed to be showing up the fact that …
…..Australasia's biggest fishing port, that’s Port Nelson in case you were wondering…. could …
…also be one of its busiest?

Ok..Ok..there is an explanation…
….even though perhaps it looks like the perfect Halloween trick…
…. on those Kiwis down under? Grown Men with butterfly nets….?????
And the message is …..
- annihilate those b*gg*rs!
Not in Nelson but when a Nelsonian breaks a World Record…
its got to be worth bringing to peoples attention.
Kiwi from Nelson, Kelly McGarry's placed 2nd at the just held RedBull Rampage 2013 in Utah this past weekend,
but he broke a world record for a jump in the process see the video above for yourself.
Crazy I reckon.

The Skandi Hercules…
surely the largest “tug” to visit our port.
In fact by comparison thats one of Port Nelsons tugboats bottom middle just to the right of the RORO ramp.
Here’s one of our tugs, the WH Parr escorting a container ship out tonight…and as they go through The Cut you can also spot the other larger Port Nelson tug, the Huria Matenga at the stern. (both Images courtesy of Port Nelson)
And why was it here….the local paper the Nelson Mail picks up the story here in an article titled ; Work on long ship to extend local economy .

The Sky….
..its another reason why living here in Nelson, NZ is just fabulous.
Perhaps its got something to do with the fact that we are so many thousands of kilometres from other land masses.
Considering its quite a distance that those fair “south sea zephers” blow…..

Ok … not my best shot…but don’t…
…you think these local Stoke property owners have the…
… opportunity to enjoy quite the “vista” in the evenings after work?
And after its cost them between 3-6minutes travel time to get home in “peak hour” traffic…you can appreciate that their is a few minutes still left at the end of the day to sit out on the deck and partake in the “best that nature” has to offer up locally.

Today is Nelson City Council Local Body Election Day…
..and its so good to see one local has not lost his sense of humor business sense.
And in the same day
- sure was interesting to see how some local candidates managed to canvass such large geographical areas? Segway to the rescue!
