Whew what a title! This weekend, Nov 4 – 6th 2011, has seen the local club,
Nelson Radio Controlled Car Club stage its 2nd major event at its newly opened track at Richmond.
What’s it all about then?
According to the Nelson Its On website
Racers from all around NZ will be in Nelson to compete with their 10th and 8th Scale Electric powered Radio Controlled Cars. With speeds up to 70km per hour this event is worth viewing.
One of the features of this newly built track is its massive 6ft power jump…(seen above centre right of photo & centre photo above this one)
…as well as a challenging triple jump
although on Saturday morning the wind decided to turn its wick up a bit,
and had many of these scale vehicles…(photo above – need to look in upper left hand side corner of frame)
,,,all but turning into aeroplanes.
But there was still heaps of them trying to fly!
A change in tactics meant that some of the more experienced drivers …
…were approaching the jumps with considerable more caution than others.
The clubs website says;
This three day event will see some of the most competitive racing available in NZ.
And from what I saw, sure looked competitive to me.
