is that when you hear this blue beauty, and look in the direction
of where its coming from, hes already hundreds of metres if not kms in front of where you think he’ll be.
No good for photography that it. Here’s hoping that CAA will soon let paying passengers go up for the ride of their life.
Whew what a title! This weekend, Nov 4 – 6th 2011, has seen the local club,
Nelson Radio Controlled Car Club stage its 2nd major event at its newly opened track at Richmond.
What’s it all about then?
According to the Nelson Its On website
Racers from all around NZ will be in Nelson to compete with their 10th and 8th Scale Electric powered Radio Controlled Cars. With speeds up to 70km per hour this event is worth viewing.
One of the features of this newly built track is its massive 6ft power jump…(seen above centre right of photo & centre photo above this one)
…as well as a challenging triple jump
although on Saturday morning the wind decided to turn its wick up a bit,
and had many of these scale vehicles…(photo above – need to look in upper left hand side corner of frame)
,,,all but turning into aeroplanes.
But there was still heaps of them trying to fly!
A change in tactics meant that some of the more experienced drivers …
…were approaching the jumps with considerable more caution than others.
The clubs website says;
This three day event will see some of the most competitive racing available in NZ.
And from what I saw, sure looked competitive to me.

..Yup I suppose, some of my regular readers from here and www.nelsonians.com already know my feelings on this one,
…but just for a moment. forgetting the cell ph tower, have you ever noticed in yr street how many power lines in fact, already cross it?
down at the beach, and with Guy Fawkes night…this Saturday 5th Nov, fast approaching,…
….I’ll be frank…I’m a tad suspicious…about “foundations being laid” here.
that it takes quite a bit more than normal to “get the cranky in me ” going ..…but Thursday am….. it did happen.
After making the drive to a sales meeting in town, at a new, for me, coffee house in Nelsons main street this morning, and after having a great experience at the counter….I eagerly awaited the delivery to the table.
Whence it arrives….I say to the young lass delivering it….”thank you” ……to which I am granted an almost blank stare…and no reciprocal words at all.
How hard can it be?
down at Tahunanui Beach.
As well as the outriggers there were others …….
…..enjoying themselves too……
albeit in typically non-standard Nelson weather.
