Amazing Sunset last night

When I photographed it this is all I got, I couldn't catch on image the rainbow like arcs radiating out from the setting sun, it sure looked great.

With a little bit of help from HDR you can see just a little bit more of the effect that I saw.

Isel Park Pigeon BirdHouse

As a kid I remember enjoying summer holidays playing in Isel Park.

Although these days there are less & less of the beautiful old 150yr old trees - recent storms over the last decade have decimated them unfortunately.

But in amongst it all there is a couple of grand size bird houses like these.

Monaco View

Low Tide Outlook from the western side of Monaco, Nelsons secluded almost "holiday" like peninsula suburb. Practically surrounded by water and with only one road in and out it was long favoured in the early days where city residents would have their "holiday bach."
The view is looking out, in a north easterly direction, toward one of the two seawater entrances to the South Islands largest estuary, Waimea Estuary. That's Rabbit Island centre of photo.

Nelson Airport

Panorama shot above of Nelson Airport. Looking down from the Princes Drive lookout and in a south westerly direction. Beyond the airport is the Waimea Inlet , the largest estuary in the South Island of New Zealand.

Depending on who you talk to, its New Zealands 4th or 5th busiest airport. Although Hamilton seems to be questioning that 4th rating of late on grounds of more international flights that have commenced their, over the last 12 months.

Seaside Village of Mapua

Many lifestylers have moved into this area over the last 10-15 years. As its about 15-20 minutes at max to most parts of Nelson its been popular with new residents who still desire a bit of "country life" but in many cases work in Richmond, Stoke or Nelson.

And the fact that the whole area from Mapua up past Cable Bay is seaside hasn't been lost on locals either.

Matai River

Meandering through the city of Nelson is the Matai River.
As its only 3 -4 minute walk from most parts of the city, many workers enjoy a short break riverside to eat their lunch in relaxed surroundings.
