Just to give you some perspective…

…of our fare town of Nelson, here is homes on Taylors Bluff in the foreground, then part of The Haven, then there's the marina and the Port, the Boulder Bank with Lighthouse centre right, Tasman Bay beyond that. and the Mountain ranges yonder, beyond the clouds that seemed to have formed around the Motueka coastline.

One of the “treasures of Nelson” is right here…

…laid out for your eyes to see. Due to a geological “freak act” we are seriously, & incredibly lucky to find ourselves living here in Nelson with a very special sheltered place called “The Haven” (photographed above)

The most “major” thing is that because of, perhaps the term should be “courtesy of”  the Boulder Bank, we find ourselves with a completely sheltered inlet, sheltered 100% from the tides, but less so from the “gusts of nature.” Something that was definitely not lost on the early settlers and probably explained our place in NZ history as one of the first “most likely” habitable places.

This structure is in a heck of a lot of trouble…

….simply because “its not meant to be” there. I’m talking about the one to the right of this chap enjoying his day out on The Haven Thursday 26th Sept 2013.

Is this the Worlds Biggest Real Estate "FOR SALE” sign?

Buried in this photo above it is, and therefore I have to ask you the question, is it really the biggest effort at a “For Sale” sign in Real Estate yet? (I’m talking about “normal people here” and not multi billionaires efforts from the likes of Dubai and surrounds)

Did I say, it would appear that no plastic, or un-natural elements were used directly / involved in the construction of this sign!

Fantastic final performance of..

…Nayland Primaries the “Class of 69” at Broadgreen Intermediate on Saturday night.

This is the 5th year in a row that this local theatrical event, put on by past/present pupils parents, staff etc,

… has taken place to raise funds for Nayland Primary School.

Cellphone reception in our Lakes District…

…has improved incredibly in recent times, and I think it has something to do with this little roadway heading up to the treeline.

Pretty sure it looks like a couple of cellphone towers up there at the end of that little road.

Even data works fine now too.

Got overtaken by Porsches this morning….

…looks like we both had the same destination in mind, albeit they probably got there a tad speedier than me. (Ian…that pretty much looks like your Boxter 4th from the left?)

…does look a tad out of place in front of this bunch of Porsches…..but better fuel consumption for me…. I’m sure.

….went down so well that they were immediately asked to do return shows,

…. and to look at the possibility of touring. Paul Madsen commenting directly to an audience member above.

My wife and I have seen their show at least 4 tines here in the Nelson region, and the last one in Mapua a few months back was sold out…

I couldn’t help but snap some “local” future ‘mericas cup sailors out there this afternoon…

…absolutely enjoying the sunshine ….

….and trying their hardest with the meek zephers that flew around today. (Apologies for todays resolution as I was in a bit of a rush to get some paperwork signed)…just..sometimes work gets in the way of photos.

Hopefully though….what gets through….is the concept of what I was trying to suggest…& that is just the pure joy of living here in this part of downunder….and literally “seeing a photo” every time I happen to drive around the waterfront.
