Most drive past it every day….
but the sign near the doorway talks of the past…
Back in the day, a Real Estate agent had many feathers to his/her bow.

Airline competition heats up in Nelson….
Who’d have thought?
After a bit of a tiki tour, the inaugural flight, ex Auckland, landed just before 1.30pm today, Tuesday.
Interesting to see their take on an entry / exit system, being so different, but probably overall stats to show a reduction in injures when compared to the “old stair” type of system. Considering the aging population around NZ, it kinda makes sense.
And in what can only be a lost photo op……one of her bigger sisters was flying overhead for a period too, just that we put on a very unusual non-Nelson type day weather wise so the higher jet wasn’t visible from the ground.

They’re comin….
We’re told competition is good, and nothing hits home like competition in relation to airfares, especially when its from a place like Nelson that has no railway line in or out!

New Phone Tower going up…
on Stoke side of Bishopdale Hill, should aid voice and data reception even further. Bit blurry because photo was taken from 1500m away.

Curious what the new NZ flags might look like….
local business has made them up and has hoisted them up outside their premises in Haven Rd, Nelson.

Most awesome property I’ve photographed this year…
and Bruce from Summit is marketing it. Can only wonder what this would be worth if it was in Auckland?

Now that’s what I call…
…scaffolding.
Looks like some extra work about to be performed on this Nelson CBD building.

Nelsonians feel they pay too much…
…when it comes to internal airfares with-in NZ.
So its great to see the Nelson Mail reporting yesterday that Nelsonians are really supporting the new entrant, OriginAir, in a bid to bring lower airfares to our region.

Serendipity they call it…
…just after the last post I look down at my Duke and Cooke Valuers 2015 Calendar and guess what photos they have for October 2015. Yup……that there….same ole’ Powerhouse!

Nelson old Electricity Building..
….you’ll know when you spot it…
….especially because of Chris Finlayson’s outstanding mural “Aotearoa” on its northern side.

That’s the top of Princes Drive….
in the distance on that hill, one of the spots you can live in Nelson and really enjoy some spectacular views each and every day.

Perfect Nelson day today….
…spring is starting to warm up…
…although do wonder if the books are still on the shelf of that boat in the distance on the Haven side of the Boulder Bank?

Ridgeway Intersection nearly claims…
…another victim. How close?
Well if the driver of the vehicle wasn’t on it and hit the brakes so hard, there would have been a connection.
Chap coming out of The Ridgeway didn’t wait for the van to pass, and wrongly assumed there was no traffic behind the van!
I think the time has come, if this is a typical experience, and I’ve seen many like it, for the powers that be to install some flashing lights 100m from the intersection, or something…..
BTW - dates on my dashcam are incorrect, this was only a few days ago.

Yes it is close…
….the northern end of Nelson Airports runway is right beside Nelson Golf Club. Certainly pick the right time not to hoist that high shot!
